Why flagship phones have small battery

What do you expect from a flagships smartphone latest hardware and software combination, more ram and storage latest flagship chipset, and probably a bigger battery? While most of the demand gets fulfilled but the battery of flagships disappoints the most.

You probably have wondered a lot of time as to why a flagship phone which costs around 70-80k  or even lakhs has a very small battery that's why you are reading this article.

Whether it's Apple's flagship phone or any of the android flagships the battery you get is going to disappoint you the most. Apple iPhone 11 pro max has the biggest battery to be offered by Apple which is 3969 mAh, which is very less than most of the budget phones today.

While the powerful processors and bigger displays consume more power and hence they need bigger batteries yet they get smaller batteries, of course, there are always exceptions some flagships also offer bigger batteries without compromising their sleek design.

When making the flagship phones these companies focus only on the design and features of smartphones, they try to give every latest feature and sensors on their flagship phones. And they have to accommodate every component of smartphone in very less space available and also to keep the smartphone light they compromise the battery.

Most of the smartphones come with lithium-ion batteries which are a bit heavier. And to make the flagships more manageable smartphone companies reduce the size of the batteries which makes the phone 10-20 gm lighter.

And all these flagships offer great performance, excellent display quality, bigger storage, more RAM, and the fastest processors. All these advantages of a flagship convince the consumer to compromise the battery. 

At last, it is the consumers for whom these smartphones are made and if the consumers demand lighter and slim phones then smartphone manufacturers will have to do it.

One of the reasons why flagship phones have smaller battery because smaller batteries cause less heat which improves the user experience and heating is not good for the chip inside it also.

 And smaller battery helps the marketing team to advertise the smartphone because it takes less time to charge and the company easily uses this for their advantage.

My opinion on flagship phones having small batteries:

When you spending such a huge amount of money you think that the smartphone company is not doing justice to you by not giving bigger batteries, like that of midrange phones. But believe me that the battery backup which you will get from a 4000mAh in a flagship device is incomparable to a 4000mAh budget device.

Battery capacity is just a number it always manipulates you, but the real thing is how good the battery backup a phone gives. Flagship smartphones are paired with the latest high-end processors which not only gives you good performance but is also battery efficient.
